Materials science and engineering is an academic field to design, produce, and supply various materials necessary for human activities at the atomic level and nano level (10-9 m).
Materials science and engineering gives frontiers and new challenges in science and technology. The key in this field is crystals comprising atoms and electrons, and quantum mechanics and thermodynamics, nanotechnology, new manufacturing processes, and characterrization technology.
We are creating the field of materials science and engineering, to contribute to the creation of innovative new materials, and to produce human resources for next generation in this field through education and research.
