Engineer image to be trained

Materials science and engineering is the academic field that forms the foundation of basic technology. It is to scientifically clarify the structure and properties of materials that determine the performance of products and structures. In addition, it is a technology to design and manufacture new materials. For example, steel, alloys, semiconductors, ceramics, composite materials, etc. are the subjects of research. In order to develop the Japanese industry, a basic philosophy of education is to develop human resources with dignity and creativity. In addition, we aim to train engineers who can solve resource problems, recycling problems, and energy problems.

Features of education

In the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, we study about materials such as steels, alloys, semiconductors, ceramics and composite materials.

Study
 (1) To clarify the structure and properties of materials that determine the performance of products scientifically at the nanoscale
 (2) Designing the functions of new materials
 (3) Development of an efficient production method for safe products

In addition to high-level material development, from the view-point of materials science and engineering, we educate and train engineers who can solve resource problems, recycling problems, and energy problems.
